hope

I have danced with fire
in the pale moonlight
And felt synchronicity
with a partner bright

The fire blazed high within me
and it burned me to the core
The rain fell down on ashes
of a love that was no more

And left me sprawled there in the mud
with shame not mine to bear
But like a phoenix rose my heart
(though still some scars are there)

I find the fire did give to me
more strength than brass or tin:
Courage is reaching beyond the pain
to live and love again.

"never lose hope. even if everything else yells, let it yell back in its own stubborn way, and listen, or at least give it a fair chance."
